FAMOUS DOPE FIENDS TRADING CARDS

People! Use your brains! Use the address below to get a deck or gee whiz, try a local comic book store or collectible card store...or try ebay. It's not that hard to find them.

Finally! A deck of these cards are mine :-) I finally found one for $9.99US plus postage. Not bad! I'm a wee bit disappointed that HST's card isn't as snazzy as Neal Cassady's, but oh well...scroll below for a scan of HST's card + some of his famous dope friends. All cards will pop up in a new window, so have javascript enabled.

front

Anyway, here is the description:

The back of the card from top to bottom (black text on white background):

HUNTER S. THOMPSON (1939- ) "I HATE TO ADVOCATE DRUGS, ALCOHOL, VIOLENCE, OR INSANITY TO ANYONE, BUT THEY'VE ALWAYS WORKED FOR ME"

"Gonzo" reporter and essayist Hunter S. Thompson is well known for his hilarious and sarcastic commentaries on America's social and political scene. "Hell's Angels" and the "Fear and Loathing" series are classic of the loose and highly personal style he used in his work for "Rolling Stone." Thompson castigates his use of many drugs in his columns and books, and the film "Where the Buffalo Roam" is a fictionalized account of his life.

(then on the left hand near the bottom of the card is a black pot leaf with the number 20 on it---this is the 20th card in the set)
